Proper research and short paper

Have analysis of sources! Like the Library of Congress and National Archices

This short paper is at least three double-spaced pages of text (Times New Roman, font size 12) and you must consult a minimum of two academically credible sources. Your bibliography and citations may be in APA, MLA, or Chicago Style format.

If you use any of the information from your sources word-for-word, you must cite the source by using endnotes, footnotes, or parenthetical citations. If you read the information and write it in your own words and it is not common knowledge, then you must cite the source because you are paraphrasing someone’s information

The short paper must include a cover page with your name, course number and course title, instructor’s name, and date. You must also include a bibliography at the end of your paper. Cherokee Removal

Thesis statement

The removal of the Cherokee community from their native lands is one of the injustices done to the natives where they lost their lands and lives; hence, to date, Native Americans are among the disadvantaged community in the United States.

Research Questions

  1. How did Cherokee removal start? Was there a need of involving in using violence?
  2. Why did the Cherokee community resist the government proposal?
  3. How was the native community affected?

Summary of the articles

Trail of fear is one of the articles used in the investigation. The article explains how the Cherokee community participated in the deal to be given shares in other parts. The treaty was signed by a few representatives, which made most of the Cherokee feel betrayed (Trail of Tears, para 14). Those in the government felt the deal was done, and the Cherokee community needed to vacate the lands and take the sum they were given. It is an appropriate article to utilize as it explains why the Cherokee community resisted the government proposal.

Cherokee removal is another article that will be used in the research. The article explains how the native community was fighting for their lands. The article describes how the Cherokee community felt betrayed by the treaty that was signed, where they collected the signatures of the majority (Garrison Para 10). Congress continued to enact the law and pass it into the new bill, which wanted the removal of the Indians. It is an appropriate article to use while composing research as it argues how the Cherokee felt they had the right to protect their lands.

Once the United States acquired independence, they wanted a new community to live in different modes. Several communities passed the Hopewell bill, which aimed at uniting the Americans (Whips, para 2). Whips indicate how the removal of Cherokee was more than Diplomacy. After independence, there were scarce resources. Though, Cherokee had most of the land, animals and resources. The article indicates the lifestyle of the native community.
